Our certified staff, can replace, repair or rebuild engines, transmissions and mechanical systems and we are an authorized dealer and repair center for most brands. Specializing in Yanmar, Caterpiller, Volvo, Westerbeke and Crusader engines, as well as most brands of outboard engines.
Transmissions
We specialize in repairing and rebuilding transmissions. Our mechanics are experts on transmissions from Borg Warner Velvet Drive, Twin Disc, Hurth, Kanzaki and ZF. We also stock a complete line of repair parts. Our bench testing allows us to diagnose and run test all repairs before launching.
Electronics
A proper functioning radio, radar and GPS unit is essential to your safety. We sell and install all major brands of electrical equipment including Furuno, Raymarine, Garmin, Navman, and Icom at competitive prices. All of our mechanics will help you pick the electronic devices to fit your needs and your budget and properly install them to the National Marine Electronics Association standards.
Electrical
We sell and maintain batteries. Whether deep cycle or house battery we will make sure it is installed properly with adequate wiring. We also specialize in inverter installation to meet your AC power needs while underway. We specialize in upgrading and installing your boat’s electrical system, and strictly adhere to ABYC standards while offering a 1 year warranty on all of our work.
Plumbing
We install tanks, heads, bilge pumps, and refrigeration and air conditioning units, as well as complete water systems.
Paint, Varnish, & Bottom Paint
Our experienced refinishing staff provides complete interior and exterior painting and brightwork service. Our heated refinishing building allows year round capability, with extensive preparation work assuring superior finishes.
High gloss varnished brightwork is often overlooked as a boat finish because of the time and money it takes to maintain but the experts at Long Point Marine will keep your boat in showroom condition with our regular maintenance schedule. We use only the best products and all of our work is performed in an environmentally responsible manner. The end product will be the mirror finish that you would expect from a top quality New England boatyard.
We will advise you on the proper barrier coat and bottom paint for your boat. We comply with all of the strict environmental laws regarding painting and removal. This is a job you should not do yourself.
Fiberglass & Wood
Our refinishing staff offers complete interior and exterior wood and fiberglass repair and fabrication. All of our refinishing starts with meticulous preparation from woodwork to fiberglass and gelcoat repair. We use only the best products and all of our work is performed in an environmentally responsible manner.
